Now

I recently viewed some photos of a family from my mission who have moved to Washington, D.C. They've been able to show their kids to all the cool historical places and I realized how much I love that city..how I almost moved there for a job.  But then after feeling like I needed to stay in vegas, I met my husband 6 months later.

My husband.  Still weird to say.  But June 14, 2014 Zach and I got married.  We needed a new blog of our own, and that's fine since the last time I posted on my personal blog was March of 2013.  I'm usually a great journal writer, but I have been awful and what good will that be when our kids and grandkids have no history on our dating/engagement/newlywedness.  So I better get back to it!!

We've been married a few days short of 3 months.  He works in PMEL for the United States Air Force stationed at Edwards AFB.  I recently graduated from surgical tech school and am currently employed in a surgery center in Lancaster, CA.

We have a little, furry, black child named Denver.  He completes us and makes us laugh.  He is a mama's boy, even though he was intended to be Zach's best friend.  But what can I say?  I am kind of smitten, and very fond of him too.

Our first few months of marriage have been a lot of fun.  We live in a tiny town, so don't know many people, but haven't really tried to get to know anyone because we stay home all the time watching show series on Netflix. We love our ward and the friends that we are making.  Zach has been called into the Young Men's as a secretary getting to experience scouts and youth activities.  I was called as chorister and relief society pianist.  It's been a great reason to get a piano in this little home of ours, and I've enjoyed playing again.

Our home is an hour from the LA temple and Santa Monica Pier.  We've been able to take 45 minute drives to enjoy a day at 6-Flags.  And conveniently can drive home to Las Vegas in 3 hours to visit our families.  Most recently we've discovered how quick it is to drive to my uncle's house in Laguna. There's no complaints from this woman about all the adventures we've been able to go on, and I am lucky I finally have a travel buddy.

Life is good.
